How do they make shirts without the seams from the armpits down to the waist?

I don’t know for 100% sure, but I do a little knitting, and I know you can use circular knitting needles to make seamless items. The needles are flexible - they’re actually one long needle pointed on both ends, and you hold one end in each hand and knit like with regular needles. And the stitches just keep going around and around with no break. There’s a way you can sort of skip stitches to create open spaces like the armholes. Hard to explain unless you’ve done any knitting yourself. But I imagine they do something similar with with the shirt fabric.
i don’t know but I think the person answering above me has a point.
